Welfare & Benefits Advice
We can provide advice and guidance on a number of welfare issues, including general advice, helping you apply for appropriate benefits, and assisting with the completion of complex forms. Our specially trained volunteers can visit your home, or see you at our office. Please contact us to find out how our Welfare Benefits Advisors can help you.
Befriending
Our volunteer befrienders devote their spare time to helping our clients who may be feeling lonely and isolated. All our team are required to provide references, and are appropriately DBS checked, so you can be assured that when you request a visit from us, you will be matched with someone who has been chosen very carefully. Additionally, we provide all our volunteers with full training and ongoing support.

We can provide:

-
Regular visits for a cuppa and a chat
-
Help to access other services
-
Support and friendship through difficulties
-
A link to the wider community
Balance Classes
Our weekly balance classes take place at Sturfit Gym on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our Tuesday balance and movement class involves movement to music with the addition of some props, whereas our Wednesday classes are more gentle for those with more limited ability wishing to improve their balance and general mobility. We also hold a Wednesday coffee morning alongside. These classes are wonderful for wellbeing, and also offer the chance to meet people, make local connections and form friendships.
Foot Clinics
Our highly qualified foot care practitioner carries out a detailed initial consultation and treatment, in order to assess your needs, and recommend an ongoing treatment programme. We have availability for new clients at our Thursday morning clinics from the 17th of October 2024. Please contact us for prices, further information or to make a booking.
Book Sales
We have a book corner in our office with a variety of interesting books for sale. From fishing to flower arranging, a gripping thriller to a colourful cookbook, you name it, we most likely have it! Pop in for a browse Monday to Friday 9.30am to 1.30pm. (We recommend checking our Facebook page for any potential closures)
Community Outreach
This is a specially funded post to engage with the local community, including other charitable organisations, to help understand the needs of the local area, promote our services, and generally support those living in the villages and hamlets surrounding the town.

We will be announcing some drop in sessions around the area shortly.
